I very recently learned of Lizz's passing. I went to middle school with her and will always remember her sticking up for me in 8th grade. Always. She was a kind, caring and beautiful young woman. I am so sorry, God be with you always. Lizz, I am so sorry I did not have the opportunity to get to know you better. Even something as small as a few kind words truly made all the difference. Thank you.

I was very close to Lizz in our Fraternity, Alpha Kappa Psi. She was one of my Best Friends and we pledged together last Fall. Whenever I was sad she made me smile. I miss her very much! Today is her Birthday and me and her were going to celebrate together. We had so much planned for this summer and so many great plans to enhance our fraternity. I pray that I myself have peace in my heart and that her family have peace in their hearts also because losing such a great person makes it hard to go on. Bless the family. And I Love you Lizz.
I think everyday about how her father said at the funeral that he thought this world would have made her less pure if she had stayed...it would have! She was just to great of a person!
    God Bless,
    Bri

Lizz was a great student. I had two classes with her in fall of '12, both of which were Spanish. She and I worked together editing one another's papers. She was generally very quiet in one class but the other one she was always smiling and joking.  I very much enjoyed her friendship.

Elizabeth really was just the best person... she was so nice to everybody she met and she always had a smile on her face... I took an 8 a.m. class with her and even that early in the morning she was bright and cheerful.  I don't think anything could get her down.  My heart broke when I found out.  I just saw her a couple of weeks ago... it's just unreal.

To the family, I am so, so very sorry for your loss, though I know no words can heal the wound.  You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Elizabeth was a very special student. She took my 8 am Accelerated Spanish course and ALWAYS had a smile on her face! The class was intense and the material was difficult, but she managed it, excelled and even provided much needed help to her classmates. I will always remember her as an encourager and a positive influence on those around her. This is a tragedy beyond belief but I believe in the hope that I will one day see her again!

    Dear Mrs. Franklin,

The foreign language faculty at East Carolina University would like to express their deep regret for the loss of your daughter.  Lizz was a bright star in our Spanish program and will be sorely missed by both faculty and students.  Her warm smile and kindness, both inside and outside the classroom, made a lasting impact on all of us and we are extremely saddened by her sudden and untimely demise.  Please accept our condolences at this very trying time.

May Lizz’s soul rest forever in peace.
